Fire Station field trip

Devan had a field trip to the Fire Station today. Tristan got to go as well, and they were both super excited. They just built a new one, so it was pretty cool to get a tour. It was REALLY nice! Seriously, I had thoughts about becoming a firewoman, just so I could hang out. Afterwards, we played at the park and ate lunches.

field trip and preschool pics

For the past 2 years I've joined a group of mom's to teach preschool. At first I'll admit I joined because I didn't want to dish out the money for a preschool, but I am SO glad I did. It has been a lot of fun teaching a few weeks out of the year, and so helpful to see how Devan does in a learning setting and how he interacts with other kids. We took the kids on a field trip to the zoo a couple weeks ago. It was pretty crazy with all the kids (even though we had a lot of parents). It was a lot of fun though and the kids especially enjoyed it. This past week was my turn to teach. I thought it would be fun to make a little yearbook for the kids graduation, so we took our very first school pictures. Devan was not wanting to smile in his picture, but he still looks pretty dang cute.

This next week is Devan's "kinder round up", so we will be heading to the "big kids school" to register him for preschool. There have been moments I've been sad about Devan starting preschool, but right now I'm pretty excited about it, and so is he. I experiencing all these new stages with him. He told me today, "When I get home from kindergarten, you'll need to give me a kiss before I go to bed." haha, love this boy.

And just for fun, a pic of all my boys...

April Fool's

We had a fun little April Fool's dinner for the boys and my friend Michelle's family.

The kids were quite excited when I told them we would be having cake for dinner. When I put it on the table I heard, "ooooo... cake, yum". What they didn't know was that this special cake had cheese instead of frosting and was filled with pepperoni, sausage, cheese, and pizza sauce. They also had a special drink, that looked quite yummy, but when they went to drink it, it stayed in the cup. This was jello :) My friend's little girl had the cup tipped clear over and said, "It's not working!"

These are Michelle's delicious "Moldy rolls".... yum!
Since we had cake for dinner, I thought we better get some protein and veggies in for dessert, so we had peas and carrots with butter (taffy rolled into peas and carrots, and melted white chocolate for the butter). The chicken nuggets were sugar waffers covered in peanut butter and crushed cornflakes. And the "Ketchup" was strawberry jelly.

It was fun watching the kids discover the food wasn't quite what it seemed.
