I'm in trouble!

Devan has always liked going through my purse finding random things, but today when he was going through it, he was asking for credit cards! "Credit Card? Credit Card?" Isn't he a little young to be wanting my cards? I think I'm in for trouble!

This post started with just the story above, but as the day has gone on, the stories just seem to get better. I was out mowing the lawn with Devan and Tristan. I had finished the front and was starting on the back. I saw Devan was heading for the door so I went after him....
I was to late. He had shut the door and locked the deadbolt behind him. I went around to all the other doors hoping that one would be unlocked. Of course they were all locked, so I then preceded to try all of the windows, no luck there either. As I was looking through windows, I noticed my bread in the oven would be done in 4 minutes. I was on a time table here! My next thought was to get a hold of Chad, but... none of the neighbors seemed to be home! I then spent the next half hour peeping through the little bit of window that wasn't covered, trying to explain to my two year old how to unlock a deadbolt. A half hour and one burnt loaf of bread later, I had succeeded! The click from the lock was the most comforting sound I thought I had ever heard. Never a dull moment in this house.

Below: His Accomplice.

OK, so Tristan had nothing to do with it, but I'm sure he will soon enough.

Oh, and one last thing, I couldn't post new pictures because Devan broke our camera.

What a cute story!! You still make me laugh! But sorry about the bread. and for your earlier post a memory I have of you is...Hmmm you & Victoria staying up super late at my house then having the great idea of running around RHS's football field in your underwear - did I get that right??? hahaha!! Then of course I will never be worthy of you because you are indeed the President of the BCC club!!! I'm not worthy!!!! and congrats on 4 years!!

HAHAHAHA!! What a little stinker!!Guess it's time to invest in a hide-a-key!! I bet your house smelled wonderful after the bread sat in the oven for an extra half hour! :) OH boy, you are such a patient mom!!!! You crack me up with the culprit and accomplice pics...You will sure have your hands full with these two!!! But they are just SO cute I bet you can't stay mad long!! :)

Oh Bree, I have to admit, I was not patient at all. My neighbors probably thought I was a crazy woman when I was explaining to Devan how to unlock the door. And you better believe when I got in, first thing I did, well, after getting after Devan, was call Chad and have him make an extra key to hide outside. I gotta say, as frusturated as I was, this whole blogging thing is pretty therapeutic. Once I start writing about it, I start to see the humor in it :)

Those are really two great stories! Hopefully I'll learn from this. Note to self: When Paige gets older have a spare key outside! haha!

I have to say the little one looks pretty guilty even if he wasn't in on it. My sister-in-law and her friend went outside and locked 4 kids under the age of 2 inside. They had just moved into their house so everything was locked and sealed and no keys. Two hours later they broke a window and climbed in to find four bawling babies. At least your oldest one could figure out how to unlock, and if he didn't, he could have slid a credit card under the door and let you break in!

Ha! I can't even imagine! So what's your plan now? Do you always leave a window unlocked? So now that you taught Devan how to do the deadbolts, does he ever unlock them? A half hour! Wow.
