Check your receipts!!

I just need to vent for a minute...
I went grocery shopping today with the boys. Well, when I went to pay it seemed a little high, but the boys were being crazy so I just took my receipt and thought I'd check it in the car. I got the boys and myself back in the car and started looking over the receipt (which was badly printed so it took forever to figure it out), but after awhile I noticed I had been charged for twice as many cans of soup as I had bought. So I just figured that was the only problem and went back in to change it. It took forever to adjust, and Devan was screaming because I wouldn't by him candy so needless to say I rushed out as soon as she was done adjusting it. Well, I got home and I thought, you know I should look over it one more time....
She had over charged me $16.00!!! I'm so annoyed. It's such a waste of time to go back that I almost want to forget about it. What would you do?

Oh and for those of you with kids, you KNOW what a pain it is taking them in and out of carseats, AND how awful grocery shopping is when your kids are acting up. That's why I'm dreading going back!

If it's over $5 I go back. It's pretty upsetting how often we get charged wrong for things, good job checking your receipt!
One time I went back into Walgreens 3 times because I was charged wrong!
Good luck!

That is crazy how do they overcharge you that much? Was it tons of different items rung in more then once or something that cost more rung in more than once? I have been overcharged before but usually just because they scan an item in an extra time when they shouldn't have. So, how did they get $16 worth. I would definitely go in. Maybe go in the evening or sometime when you can go without your kids or if you have a quick trip to make. I hear ya, shopping with kids can be a pain and with it being so HOT it makes it even more dreadful hauling everyone around. Good luck, sorry about that.

haha, it was Walgreens for me as well! Erin, I think the sales weren't put into the register right. And then like I said in the post she rung up some items twice.

as much of a pain as it is...I would probably go back...well...MAYBE!!! I know how frustrating it can be and sometimes the hassle really isn't worth $16...but then again...sixteen dollars is sixteen dollars. I would take it back when your hubby can help out with the kids.

I'd go there and bust out some knee caps!! ha ha Ok that's a little harsh but I would go back. 16 dollars is a lot!

I would go back. I know how hard it is shopping with kids, but $16 is worth it to me. We have a tiny grocery store in Mackay that overcharges me every time I go in, plus half the things I buy are expired. I just hate it!

grrr....that's frustrating!!! Jake is really good about checking it right there and adding it up in his head before hand so that if they overcharge him he can tell them right away. I never think to and then later when I see it I just figure it's not worth the trouble...I've probaby lost a TON of money that way!!! I'm going to start being more picky though!

Ahhh so sorry! I'd go back but have the hubby watch the kiddos! I hate wasting money but at the same time if the kids are nuts it's something I'd work out later, I think you're amazing for going back in with the boys the first time! My luck I woulnd't have noticed until it was to late.

I hate when I don't notice the mistakes until I am home!! I especially hate when I get fast food and come home & realize they forgot Half our food!! Yes those are definately times when a good venting is needed :) So please vent away!!!!

I am all about going back....especially for $16!! but I do sympathize with you on the whole "mean kid" thing....I dread grocery shopping because for some reason, my little angel turns into a monster the second I walk into the store!!

I would go back in. I usually shop with my husband so I can have someone else there helping me with kids. I don't like to go any where by myself with the kids. I like going with some one else to talk to. So I like to wait for Robert to get home and he takes us out and hang out as a family.
